DS Lawyers is an international law firm with over 400 lawyers in more than seventeen countries. The four Canadian offices of Québec, Montréal, Toronto and Vancouver specialize in business law, corporate law, tax law and commercial litigation.

Due to the firm’s ongoing growth, our Toronto office is looking for a receptionist to join the team.

The receptionist will perform a wide variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support the lawyers in carrying out their mandates by executing, in a timely manner, the work they will be entrusted with:


  • Greet clients
  • Receive phone calls, filter and transfer calls, and distribute messages
  • Respond to general public inquiries
  • Open, sort and distribute mail
  • Prepare and send letters and parcels
  • Manage the conference room agendas
  • Transcribe various letters and reports
  • Perform file opening, filing of paper and electronic documentation, ensure the tracking and organization of files
  • Enter data into various systems, including expenses, time entry and others
  • Prepare expense reports
  • Prepare and send invoices to clients
  • Provide support and assistance to other office staff, as needed
  • Manage, track and purchase office supplies
  • Manage various photocopiers (paper, supplies, equipment maintenance)
  • Manage petty cash and checks
  • Keep a registry of keys and office codes
  • Perform all other general or specific administrative tasks, as required by the firm


  • The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
  •  A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position
  • Good IT skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office® Suite
  • Experience with law practice management software considered an asset
  • Written and oral proficiency in English and French
  • The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A sense of responsibility and good organizational skills
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to work autonomously
  • Discretion and the ability to work as part of a team across the Canadian offices
  • Positive attitude
  • Flexibility and able to adapt to structural changes
  • Availability to work overtime when required
  • 40 hours / week
